NJ (NYD) Contact Wedge Backstop

1. Structural Features and Working Principle The NJ (NYD) contact wedge backstop (hereinafter referred to as the backstop) is a contact anti-reversal device mounted on the low-speed shaft of reducers or roller shafts. Compared with conventional backstops such as roller backstops, it features large braking torque, reliable force transmission, easy release and convenient installation with low precision requirements. Multiple wedges are arranged in a regular pattern between the raceway formed by the inner ring and outer ring. Once the inner ring rotates in reverse direction, the wedges are pushed by spring force to lock the inner ring and outer ring as a whole, so as to bear the anti-reversal torque (see figure). It is widely applied to equipment requiring anti-reversal function, including belt conveyors and bucket elevators. 2. Operating Environment The operating environment requirements for NJ (NYD) backstops are consistent with those specified for NJD (DSN) low-speed backstops.
