From May 6 to 8, 2024, the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Continuous Handling Machinery (hereinafter referred to as the Continuous Handling Machinery Standardization Committee) organized a seminar on the first drafts of national standards 《Continuous Mechanical Handling Equipment Safety Code General Rules》 and 《Conveying Machinery Code for Inspection and Maintenance Part 1: Belt Conveyors》 in Tongcheng City, Anhui Province. Attendees of this seminar included members of the standard drafting group, industry experts and secretariat staff, amounting to 34 representatives from 29 institutions.
The seminar was presided over by Director Lin Fukui of the Standards Department, Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as BMHRI). Distinguished leaders and guests including Deputy Mayor Zhang Shu of Tongcheng Municipal People's Government, Director Yao Zhiguo of Tongcheng Bureau of Science, Technology and Information, Chairman Wang Shunting of the Continuous Handling Machinery Standardization Committee and Vice Chairman Cao Jiang of Anhui Pandeng Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. attended the seminar as invited guests. At the opening ceremony, Deputy Mayor Zhang Shu and Chairman Wang Shunting delivered speeches successively, and Vice Chairman Cao Jiang of Anhui Pandeng Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., the seminar organizer, delivered a welcome address.
In his speech, Deputy Mayor Zhang Shu introduced the development history and current status of the conveying machinery industry in Tongcheng City, and expressed high attention and strong support for standardization work.
Chairman Wang Shunting fully recognized the remarkable achievements made in the formulation and revision of continuous handling machinery standards in his speech, and put forward requirements of standardization, advancement and scientificity for the development of the two national standards and discussions at this seminar.
The national standards 《Continuous Mechanical Handling Equipment Safety Code General Rules》 and 《Conveying Machinery Code for Inspection and Maintenance Part 1: Belt Conveyors》 were jointly formulated by Anhui Pandeng Heavy Industry Co., Ltd., Huadian Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and other institutions respectively. After listening to the presentations delivered by the lead drafting institutions covering the overall compilation ideas, major working procedures, core technical contents and relevant formulation basis of each standard, participating experts conducted thorough chapter-by-chapter and clause-by-clause discussions on the first drafts of the two national standards and put forward several revision comments and suggestions. Finally, all experts unanimously approved the first drafts of the two national standards through consultation.
With the strong support of the seminar organizer and joint efforts of all participants, the seminar successfully completed all scheduled tasks.
The formulation of the above two national standards bears important guiding significance for protecting personnel life and property safety, improving the safety management level of continuous handling equipment, standardizing equipment management activities and extending the service life of equipment.
