From February 26 to 28, 2025, the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Continuous Handling Machinery (hereinafter referred to as the Technical Committee for Continuous Handling Machinery) organized an expert review meeting in Beijing for the draft versions of two national standards, namely Continuous Mechanical Handling Equipment — Belt Conveyors with Carrying Idlers — Calculation of Operating Power and Tensile Forces and Continuous Ship Loaders for Bulk Materials — Types and Basic Parameters. The meeting was attended by drafters of the standards, industry experts and secretariat staff, totaling 27 representatives from 23 institutions.
The meeting was presided over by Director Lin Fukui of the Standards Department, Beijing Materials Handling Research Institute Co., Ltd. At the opening ceremony, General Manager Pi Yanfeng of Huadian Engineering Co., Ltd., the meeting organizer, delivered a welcome speech, and Chairman Wang Shunting of the Technical Committee for Continuous Handling Machinery addressed the audience.
The meeting reviewed two national standards: Continuous Mechanical Handling Equipment — Belt Conveyors with Carrying Idlers — Calculation of Operating Power and Tensile Forces and Continuous Ship Loaders for Bulk Materials — Types and Basic Parameters. During the review, participating experts first listened to presentations by the lead drafting institutions covering the overall compilation ideas, major work progress, key revised technical contents and supporting basis for each standard. They then reviewed the draft standards chapter by chapter and clause by clause, put forward several revision comments and suggestions, and unanimously approved the standards upon review.
With strong support from the organizer Huadian Engineering Co., Ltd. and joint efforts of all participants, the meeting successfully completed all scheduled tasks. For the revised national standard Continuous Mechanical Handling Equipment — Belt Conveyors with Carrying Idlers — Calculation of Operating Power and Tensile Forces, the value range of the artificial friction coefficient for main resistances is refined, additional and special resistances are supplemented, and the accuracy of resistance calculation is improved. For Continuous Ship Loaders for Bulk Materials — Types and Basic Parameters, typical structural types of continuous bulk ship loaders are added, and relevant provisions on track gauge are revised. The revision of the two standards optimizes their technical contents and raises their technical level. It will play a positive role in boosting equipment quality and safety, advancing equipment technical upgrading, facilitating international trade, and supporting high-quality development of the continuous handling machinery industry.
